Powershifting (a.k.a. flat shifting, Full Throttle Shift) is a term used in car racing that relates to a method of shifting gears while the accelerator remains fully engaged. Powershifting can stress and sometimes damage the drivetrain, as it must absorb the energy required to quickly change the engine's RPM.
